Barry McGovern

Barry McGovern is an Irish actor and one of the world's foremost interpreters of the works of Samuel Beckett.

McGovern has worked in theatre, film, radio and television and is famous for his one-man Beckett shows 'Watt' and 'I'll Go On'.

He has worked in Dublin's famous Abbey and Gate Theatres and his film work includes 'Waiting for Godot', 'The General', 'Driftwood', 'The Disappearance of Finbar', 'Braveheart' and 'Joe Versus the Volcano'. In addition to his association with Beckett, McGovern has also lectured on James Joyce and has done annual readings from 'Ulysses' on the occasion of Bloomsday at the Joyce Tower in Sandycove, Dublin.

He has also directed plays and operas and has co-written two musicals.
